49 – Pip System: The Proof is in the Pudding

Join the Queen’s own special baking investigation division as they embark on their first mission — what is DCT, why is it making people go mad, and where is it coming from? Our intrepid baking/spy team replaces the previous British entrant to the European Baking reality show Proof is in the Pudding as it seems to be the source of the mysterious spice.

48 – Gen Con 2016: AT LAST the 5 min. RPGs!

Better late than never! Emily and I were both a bit under the weather this week, so we finally got around to the long awaited audio from our Gen Con five minute RPGs. We ran these games using Evil Hat’s It’s Not My Fault Cards. You can get more info about running them in the episode of Panda’s Talking Games where I talked about running them (http://misdirectedmark.com/talking-games-seventeen-short-form-games/) or in this handy dandy Gnome Stew article: http://www.gnomestew.com/game-mastering/its-not-the-size-that-counts-its-how-you-use-it/

Extra music in this episode thanks to Joshua Empyre and Tyops on freesound.org.

47 – Alas for the Awful Sea: Silver Fish

Emily and Senda are joined by one half of the Storybrewers game design duo Hayley to play their new kickstarter game, Alas For The Awful Sea.

Finley McMichaels, the beloved of one Patience Jenkins, has assured her that he wants to go home with her even though his clan carries a grudge against hers. Auntie Jenkins is constantly questioning whether or not Finley actually wants to come with them but is following Patience with the weary kindness only a badass sailor aunt can muster.

Alas For The Awful Sea is a powered by the Apocalypse game set in 19th century rural United Kingdom, thematically concentrated of the hardships and politics of life and the mystery and magic of folk mythology existing as real. You can check our their kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/259750074/alas-for-the-awful-sea-myth-mystery-and-crime-in-1?ref=discovery

44 – The Sky Is Grey and You Are Distressed

One of us has a secret….and tonight’s the night to clear the air.

Phil Vecchione of Misdirected Mark and Encoded Designs (and that other show, Panda’s Talking Games) joins Senda to play Ginger Goat Games’ The Sky is Grey and You Are Distressed. There was a little bit of show bleed from recording all the things in one night, so expect outtakes!

43 – The Witch is Dead: The Twist

Once upon a time in a sleepy little gnome village, there lived a kind a wonderful witch and her dear fox familiar. They lived very happily until one day, a witch hunter came and MURDERED THE GOOD WITCH. This is the quest of her familiar to rip out his eyes to bring her back to life….or at least wreak horrible vengeance. This week, our adorable little fox has been caught, and you, the audience, all know there is a twist coming!
