Lastly, it came to our attention that we didn’t handle the colonial tropes of steampunk in a very aware way. We’re going to keep running the series, and we thing that at the end we did better, but we’re also going to say that we are going to do better and be more aware in the future.

68 — Genesys

Today we’re playing Fantasy Flight Games’ new game Genesys! Our steampunk story is set in Steelhearth, the not-London of the setting. We are joined by Katrina OstranderStory Manager at Fantasy Flight Games & one of the Genesys Core Rulebook writers, as our GM.

It’s the night of Lady Selene’s annual gala where the rich, fabulous, and powerful gather to eat dainty pastries and dance. Our three players arrive, each with a distinct goal.

67 – Love and Justice: BLOSSOM BLAST!

Episode One of season three of the Blossom Beauties continues! Emily and Senda are joined by Meghan Dornbrock (Modifier), Emily Reinhart (Third Act Publishing + Satanic Panic) and Erika Chappell (SO MANY GAMES) to play Senda’s first game, Love and Justice! Love and Justice is a magical girls hack of John Harper’s Lasers and Feelings. Patrons of the show have access to it now, as well as to the outtakes from today’s episode and last week’s episode!

This episode has a shocking amount of cussing in it for magical girls, so be warned! We had way too much fun, and Erika and Meghan were right between their second and third con weekends in a row.

65.5 – We Messed Up Our Recording Schedule!

Sorry friends! we goofed on our recording schedule between being out of town and life etc. etc. etc. We’re going to make it up to you by still releasing two shows this month, they’re just going to be on 11/21 and 11/28 instead of 11/14 and 11/28. In the meantime, here’s a teaser for a new show that Emily has been working on: Avanti – Glitter and Blood, coming soon to the Wednesday Evening Podcast Allstars on the Misdirected Mark network!

The theme song for Avanti is Ghost Dance by Kevin McLeod http://incompetech.com/

65 – Scarecrow: The Hat

**Trigger Warning: child death, off screen violence to children, active violence

Emily and Senda are joined by the talented Wendelyn Reischl and Camdon Wright to play The Scarecrow by Post World Games. The school bully is dead. We didn’t like him but we didn’t want this — events are spiraling quickly out of control and we seem to be the only ones who can stop the Scarecrow rom killing again.

Wendelyn Reischl as Carrie the Adopted Child

Camdon Wright as Gavin the Runaway Child

Senda as Rosie the Artistic Child

Emily as Mary Jo the Rancher’s Child

We recorded in person, so the audio quality is a bit different than our other games. You can also hear our imaginary cat friend Mithril meowing and bumping the mic. We’re sorry about that, but how do you stop an imaginary cat from doing anything?

64 – The Scarecrow

**Trigger Warning: child death, off screen violence to children, active violence

Emily and Senda are joined by the talented Wendelyn Reischl and Camdon Wright to play The Scarecrow by Post World Games. “The Scarecrow is a story roleplaying game about isolation and superstition. Characters are children living in rural America all dealing with a local ‘legend’ about a Scarecrow, who may or may not be real.”

63 —Masks: I Know You Think You Can Handle This

The Calvacade of Freaks save themselves and their plucky mascot Pluto from being kidnapped by the mercenary Knuckle-Duster. In their escape Kel known as Hectate advocated abandoning their caretaker Mad Maude who was then warped away from the site. Safely within the walls of a League of Super Heroes hideout our teens listen to the adult supers discuss Maude and other non-human-looking supers’ disappearances. The distressed fish-like transformed Helen Reckless demands the group save their house mother when Shryee known as Stardust gets a tingle in her alien senses.

62 — Masks: Leave the Maude, Take the Dog

Under attack by mercenaries, our cavalcade of teenage superhero freaks flee the house — leaving their caretaker Mad Maude behind.
